We realized that the 'luxury' in cycling travel had become a marketing buzzword rather than a reality. We saw tours where guests rode expensive bikes but stayed in three-star hotels, or stayed in palaces but rode heavy, poorly maintained hybrids.
Velo Escapes was born to fix that imbalance. We brought the 'white-glove' standard of high-end hospitality to the grit and glory of the road. Today, we are proud to be headquartered in the heart of Austin, Texas, but our soul is scattered across the winding backroads of the world.

Based in Austin, Texas, Carey is an author, endurance athlete, life coach, and fitness coach. But above all those titles, Carey is a lifelong cycling enthusiast and lover of the open road.
Carey's vision for Velo Escapes was born out of a desire to blend the intense physical demands of endurance cycling with unparalleled luxury and recovery. Having experienced the transformative power of pushing physical limits, Carey knew that the perfect escape requires an equally magnificent environment to reflect and recover in.
Every itinerary, hotel partnership, and fleet decision passes through Carey's hands, ensuring that the brand's core ethos—grit matched by grace—is felt in every single pedal stroke.
